AP Police Messaging System launched in Guntur

It helps in accessing data from anywhere in the State

GUNTUR: Andhra Pradesh Police Messaging System has been launched in all the 89 police stations in Guntur district, which connects them to the network of police department in the State, enabling them to access data from anywhere on several aspects.

Guntur Range Inspector General of Police Satyanarayan on Sunday formally launched the messaging system at the Police Kalyana Mandapam, which would enable police personnel from anywhere to secure details about missing vehicles through the tracking system on this network, unidentified bodies, missing persons, persons with history sheets.

Computerised Integrated Police Application was launched in 42 police stations of the district simultaneously and in the remaining 45 stations also it would be launched in two or three days, the Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha said. This allows all the First Information Reports to be put online on the computer for any police wing of the country to access the details.

The police would launch ‘Dial 100’ service by December-end, which would allow the centralized police control room (something like a call centre) to voice record the complaint or grievance of any caller and put it online to be conveyed to the district police concerned. The caller can later find out the status of his complaint also. The Officer on Special Duty M. Ravi Prakash was also present on the occasion.
