Nahan (H.P.): Ram Vilas Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) may field its candidates on all the 65 seats during the second phase of the Assembly elections in the State if the seat sharing talks with the Congress, does not fructify, a senior LJP leader said. “Talks are still on between Mr. Paswan and Congress President Sonia Gandhi for reaching an electoral understanding between the UPA partners,” LJP’s State president Sadanand Chauhan, said. Mr. Chauhan, sitting MLA from Nahan in Sirmour district, said, “We have not received final word from Mr. Paswan yet and that LJP was asking for 10 seats in 68-member H.P. House.” But, in case the seat-sharing failed the LJP would field candidates on all the 65 seats going to poll in the second phase on December 19, Mr. Chauhan added. “No consensus was reached between the two parties for the three tribal seats that went to polls in the first phase on November 14, as a result of which LJP had fielded its candidate at Kinnaur (Reserved seat) against nominees of Congress, BJP and BSP,” he said. “They (Congress) shall take lesson from Punjab where isolating secular partners cost it dearly,” he added. “LJP will announce its nominees on November 22,” he said.PTI
