Chandigarh: The Punjab Government on Sunday finalised the details of the plan to link Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib in the State with Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib, Nanded, through an inter-state highway to be known as Guru Gobind Singh Marg. The details were finalised at a high-level meeting presided over by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal here. Mr. Badal’s media advisor Harchran Bains said the Chief Minister had already taken up the matter with the Centre and a meeting on the subject is scheduled to be chaired by Union Home Minister in New Delhi on November 23, 2007. The new highway would link up with the portion connecting Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib (Sri Anandpur Sahib) with Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib (Nanded) and the it would commemorate the journey of the 10th Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh from Sri Damdama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo) to Sri Hazoor Sahib. He said the road would have many landmarks where the 10th Guru had stayed during the course of his journey. This would also be the first inter-state highway to connect three of the five holy Takhts of the Sikhs, said Mr. Bains. The Punjab Government had set up a 10-member committee comprising academicians and scholars in Sikh history as well as geographical experts to collect authentic information and identify the travel-route of Sri Guru Gobind Singh.
