AICC urged to send team to Nandigram
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: A delegation of Congress leaders from West Bengal, including Union Ministers Pranab Mukherjee and Priyaranjan Dasmunsi, on Sunday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and requested that a high-level team be sent to Nandigram to assess the situation.
Congress Legislature Party leader Manas Bhuiyan and Working President of the Pradesh Congress Committee Pradip Bhattacharya earlier met senior AICC general secretary Mohsina Kidwai, in charge of party affairs in the State, and conveyed their demand. Ms. Kidwai assured them that she would place their demand before the party. The party had adopted a resolution at its AICC meeting on Saturday condemning the incidents in Nandigram.
