Pereira breaks World record

BERLIN: Brazilian swimmer Thiago Pereira broke the men’s 200 metres medley short course World record here on Sunday timing 1min 53.14s in the sixth leg of the World Cup series.

Pereira broke the old mark of 1:53.31 set by Ryan Lochte of the United States on April 7, 2006 in Shanghai. — AP
