Accident too k place at an upmarket Greater Kailash food-store NEW DELHI: In a bizarre incident, a young woman was killed when her head got crushed between the sliding doors of an elevator at an upmarket Greater Kailash food-store here on Sunday. According to the police, the incident took place around 5-30 p.m. when 21-year-old Neetu Singh, who worked with “Morning Store” in the Greater Kailash M-Block Market, was trapped between the sliding doors of the lift on the second floor. She sustained serious head injuries and fell unconscious on the spot. The store staff rushed Neetu to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences where she was declared dead on arrival. Neetu was a resident of Jamrudpur village in South Delhi. The police said they were planning to register a case of negligence against the store owner. “The post-mortem will be conducted at AIIMS on Monday in the presence of the relatives of the deceased. We are trying to find out if the store’s lift had been issued a valid inspection certificate,” said a police officer, adding that the post-mortem report would ascertain the exact cause of Neetu’s death.
