Roughed up by MLA’s men
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: A residents’ welfare association office-bearer has alleged that he was roughed up by the supporters of an MLA of the Palam area here on Sunday.
Ishwar Singh of the RWA of Raj Nagar-I&II and Puran Nagar alleged that the incident took place around 11-30 a.m. at the Syndicate Market of Raj Nagar Part-I when he and other area residents objected to small sewer pipeline being laid along the main road as it could lead to sewage overflow in the locality.
“The area MLA confronted me saying I was creating unnecessary problems. His men then beat me up. I have sustained injuries on the face and hands,” said Mr. Singh. He later lodged a complaint with the Dwarka police station, after which his medical examination was done at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital.
