Kalakshetram inaugurated

The inauguration of Kalakshetram, arts-training programme of the Higher Secondary Department, was held at the Government Higher Secondary School for Girls, Ernakulam. Mayor Mercy Williams, chief patron of the programme, inaugurated the event. The programme aims to train talented students from economically backward families in Tiruvathira, Oppana, instrumental music, Chendamelam and Bharatanatyam.

Keralapiravi celebrated

Keralapiravi was celebrated at CKMNSS Senior Secondary School, Chalakudy. Literary critic and writer Thomas Varghese inaugurated the celebrations at which poet Ramachandran Thekkedath was the chief guest. Principal C.V. Abraham presided.

Fabula 2007

Over 500 students from 20 schools participated in Fabula 2007, cultural and sports events held at Rajagiri Higher Secondary School, Kalamassery. The programme was inaugurated by film director Vinayan. Vicar of the Rajagiri Province Fr Mathew Vattathara presided.

Mathematics quiz

Sivagiri Vidyaniketan Senior Secondary School, Thottumukham, Aluva, plans to organise a mega mathematics quiz on November 24 on its main campus. The event is being organised by the alumni association of the school. Winners will be given cash prizes and certificates. For details, call: 2626490 or 2632102.

Plan drawing

A house plan drawing competition for schoolchildren was organised by the Yasoram Charitable Trust on Sunday. It is an annual event, aimed at testing the skill, creativity and accuracy of the children in drawing the layout and elevation of a single storey house with a floor area of 1100 to 1200 sq. ft. Seventy-two children from schools within and outside Kochi participated.
