Owaisi’s face-off with Nomula
HYDERABAD: A remark by the MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi comparing Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee to Narendra Modi vis-À-vis the treatment of Muslims led to a verbal tussle with his CPI (M) counterpart, N. Narsimhaiah, in the Assembly on Monday. In a spirited speech during a debate on minorities’ welfare, Mr Owaisi said most of the people who lost lands at Nandigram were Muslims, and instead of ensuring justice to them, the West Bengal Chief Minister had repeated Godhra. Mr Owaisi said his party would launch full-scale operations in West Bengal soon.
