Decision flayed

NEW DELHI: The Leader of the Opposition in the MCD, J. K. Sharma, on Monday alleged that the BJP’s decision to levy an 8 per cent annual interest on conversion charges and a 10-fold penalty on violators was being propounded without the consent of the Supreme Court-appointed Monitoring Committee.

“The MCD has not taken permission from the Supreme Court and neither does it have approval of the Monitoring Committee. This decision is irrational."
