“Stern Haryana action against misbehaving teachers”

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has, for the time being, banned appointment of guest teachers. Special appointment of guest teachers would be permitted in institutions where it is absolutely necessary, Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta said on Monday.

Talking to media persons in Kurukshetra, the Minister said stern action would be taken against teachers who misbehave.

Teachers held guilty of misbehaving with girl students would be terminated. Criminal cases would be registered against such teachers and action would be initiated against the head of the educational institution.

Mr. Gupta, who is also the Transport Minister, disclosed that the State Government would shortly buy double-decker buses.

Special buses would ply in Kurukshetra for pilgrims and tourists.
