BHOPAL: The winter session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly beginning next Monday will, in all likelihood, have a stormy start with the Opposition Congress gearing up to stall the proceedings on the dumper purchase issue involving Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who has been named in an FIR and faces a Lokayukta probe. Congress Legislature Party members are unanimous in pointing out that the dumper purchase issue would be their principal agenda when the House meets. The Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Jamuna Devi, who was celebrating her birthday on Monday in her constituency, Kukshi, in Dhar district told The Hindu over phone that she would not like to open her cards at this stage. She said the strategy for the winter session would be decided by the Congress Legislature Party members when they meet in the Capital before the session. To a query, Ms. Jamuna Devi said she had sent a report on the dumper purchase issue to Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The Chief Minister is finding himself in a tight corner in the wake of an FIR registered by the Lokayukta Police on orders passed by the special anti-corruption court here last week on a petition seeking action under Section 156(3) of Cr. PC. The complaint related to the purchase of few heavy duty vehicles (dumpers) by the Chief Minister’s wife.
