HYDERABAD: A youthful serial minus wailing, melodrama and double entendre. A light hearted comedy serial offering pure unadulterated fun for the entire family on a Telugu television channel. It is no longer going to be a wishful dream.

Annapurna Studios and MAA TV have jointly announced the telecast of the all new serial, ‘Yuva’ with a fresh cast both before and behind the camera from December onwards. The episodes will be telecast on the weekends of Saturday and Sunday at 8.30 p.m.

‘Yuva’ will chronicle the life and times of six young and happy people – three boys and three girls, living in adjacent apartments in a hilarious manner.

Another novelty of the serial will be that it is being directed by a young lady, Sabiha, who has assisted the likes of director K. Raghavendra Rao.

Maiden foray

Matinee idol Akkineni Nagarjuna, who introduced the cast and also announced his maiden foray into television production with ‘Yuva’ promised that the serial will make people laugh and quite unlike what is generally seen on television channel these days.

“Television is going to be very big in the next few years and it is an investment opportunity for me.

I had immense pleasure in making of the serial which is in the genre of ‘Happy Days’ movie. Now that people have accepted the movie, we are confident of our product although we started it much before,” he said.

New cast

Another connection to the Shekar Kammula’s big hit is Music Director Micky J. Meyer scoring the music for the peppy title song.

The lead actors – Rashmi, Krishna, Vasu, Karuna, Vishwa and Monali, all new faces were presented to the media as the song was played in the background.

50 episodes canned

Nagarjuna said they have canned for 50 episodes and the script ready for 100 episodes but it will depend on how the serial is received. “We also have plans to turn it into a daily soap if it is successful,” he said. Sharath Marar, CEO, MAA TV, was also present on the occasion.
