Draft photo electoral rolls released in Tirupur

People can apply for inclusion and objection till December 8

first stage: Voters going through draft photo electoral rolls displayed at Coimbatore Corporation on Monday.

TIRUPUR: The draft photo electoral rolls for Tirupur, Palladam, Avanashi and Pongalur Assembly constituencies were released at Tirupur Revenue Divisional office here on Monday.

According to Tirupur Revenue Divisional Officer B. Murugesh, the draft rolls for Tirupur constituency have been displayed at 148 designated centres, including 119 schools and 29 post offices besides Taluk office, municipal office and panchayat union office.

Tirupur Assembly constituency with a total voters of 2,74,616 tops in the region, followed by Palladam (2,01,141), Avanashi (1,66,598) and Pongalur (1,39,491).

The draft rolls were published at 157 designated centres in Palladam constituency and 137 centres in Pongalur constituency.

Appealing to the public to have a look at the rolls at designated centres, Mr. Murugesh asked them to check whether their name, photograph and address where published correctly. The people can apply for inclusion, deletion and alterations in the draft rolls till December 8. The administration will carry out special campaign for inclusion and deletion on November 24 and 25 and December 2. Those who want to register themselves in their new address have to compulsorily mention their previous address and those who obtain Voter’s Identity Card should mention the card number.

The final photo electoral rolls will be published on January 11.
