Air India staff assaulted
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Passengers of a Mumbai-bound Air India flight allegedly roughed up three members of the airline staff at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here on Sunday night. They were apparently upset over a delay in the departure of their flight.
Flight AI-307, coming from Tokyo with a stopover at Delhi, had to be grounded because of a technical snag. Around 90 passengers were to take the flight at 8 p.m. When it got delayed, some angry passengers beat up three members of the Air India staff. “The staff members received minor injuries,” said airline spokesperson Jitendra Bhargava.
The passengers were later sent to Mumbai by a special plane, he added.
