Bangalore: The Bangalore University has decided to remit the examination-related remuneration, travel allowance, dearness allowance of teachers directly to their accounts at the State Bank of Mysore with effect from the November /December examination. According to a press release here on Monday, the university used to disburse the examination-related remuneration through the designated valuation custodians/ university finance section by way of cheques. This caused a lot of inconvenience, such as inordinate delay, misuse of cheques, unnecessary wastage of stationary. BUCTA had the Vice-Chancellor to address this problem and submitted two memorandums in this regard. Accordingly, the Vice-Chancellor has approved BUCTA’s proposal and directed the officials concerned to remit all the examination-related remuneration directly to the teachers’ accounts. K.G. Lokesh, president of BUCTA, has urged all the teachers to open a savings bank account with any branch of State Bank of Mysore and give details of the account to the finance officer, Bangalore University, through the respective principals immediately. “This is the first time that such as facility has been introduced in the Department of Education in the State” he said in the release.
