Man throws acid on estranged wife
HYDERABAD: A private bank employee, who had split with his wife, allegedly threw acid on her while she was returning home from office at Sitaphalmandi on Monday evening.
The victim, Rajani, 27, suffered burns all over her body and was shifted to Gandhi Hospital after initial treatment at a nearby private hospital. After recording her statement, the Chilakalaguda police began a hunt for her husband Jnaneshwar.
While Rajani works for HDFC bank’s branch at Saifabad, Jnaneshwar works for another branch of the same bank. Both were residents of Warasiguda. They got married a year ago but got separated after developing differences over some family matters.
The incident occurred near Pochamma temple.
