HYDERABAD: It was walkouts galore in the Legislative Council on Monday, with the TDP and TRS members protesting twice and the CPI (M) and teacher MLCs on one occasion. Four teacher MLCs walked out soon after Chairman A. Chakrapani disallowed an adjournment motion by TDP on closure of junior colleges. Separately, TRS members staged a walkout after their adjournment notice on deaths of over 140 girijans in Adilabad district in the last four months due to viral fever was rejected.

Another walkout was staged by the TDP, TRS and CPI(M) members after Social Welfare Minister P.Subash Chandra Bose turned down TD leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao’s demand for appointing a House panel into irregularities in the use of SC/ST welfare funds. Finance Minister K.Rosaiah said a House panel was already looking into the scholarship scam.
