Killing of innocent people sad: Farooq

Jammu: Taking a serious note of the recent killing of two youths by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah said on Monday that this raised questions on the State’s accession to India.

“The killings of innocent people by the security forces are going on which is very sad... such incidents have given us a setback.

“The killings of two innocent people in Kupwara and Srinagar force us to think whether signing of Instrument of Accession by my father Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah and Maharaja Hari Singh was fair and straight or not,” Dr. Abdullah told reporters in an informal chat after releasing a book at a function here on Monday.

“The Army is not doing good to the country by such incidents. The Prime Minister and Defence Minister should personally look into these incidents,” the NC leader said. — PTI
