Suggestions invited on extension of ESI Act

The establishments include educational and medical institutions wherein 20 or more persons have been employed
HYDERABAD: The Government has invited objections and suggestions on its intent to extend the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation Act, 1948, to several private establishments/institutions which employ 20 or more persons.
According to an official release, the establishments include private educational and medical institutions wherein 20 or more persons have been employed or were employed on any day of the preceding 12 months.
Suggestions
The institutions established and run by Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission have been excluded. The objections/suggestions should be addressed to the Labour department within six months from the date of publication of the notification in the AP Gazette.
They could also be sent to the Principal Secretary, through the Director of Insurance Medical Services, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad.
