Health matters: East Godavari SP B. Srinivasulu, ITDA Project Officer Yogita Rana meeting trained tribal youths at Rampachodavaram PMRC office on Tuesday. Rampachodavaram: ITDA Project Officer Yogita Rana has asked the ICDS and Medical and Health departments to take care of tribals’ personal hygiene and nutrition to keep them away from any diseases. Addressing Agency areas ICD, Health and Care NGO representatives meeting here on Tuesday, she said that health workers should enlighten tribals’ on necessity of going to the hospital in case of emergencies and the need to take proper diet during pregnancy. Ms.Yogita Rana asked that ICDS, Medical and Health Department and NGOs should draw an action plan to highlight these issues in interior villages. She said that there are four lakh people in Agency and among them 45 per cent are primitive tribal groups. She said that ITDA will start separate centres for supplying nutrients to expectant mothers under Indira Kranthi Patham . District Medical and Health Officer (tribal area) Prithviraj, ICDS project director T.V. Srinivas, APD Margaret, Care support officer J.K. Kanta and others participated. ReservationDistrict Superintendent of Police B. Srinivasulu has said that the government has reserved four per cent of posts for tribal youth in police force and 500 youth from district are going to get jobs in coming days. Addressing tribal youth in Setraj Centre here along with Ms. Yogita Rana, he said that during 2004-05 they have recruited 175 youth in the State in local and APSP battalions. Additional SP P.H.D. Ramakrishna, CI Veerareddy also participated in the programme.
