Intel has expanded operations to 484 cities since 2002 Strong base of 1,800 associate partners KANNUR: Intel India will increase its operations in towns such as Kannur as part of efforts to bridge the digital divide and take technology to the masses. Intel South Asia channel business manager Ashok Nair said at a press conference here on Tuesday that the Information Technology adoption in smaller cities such as Kannur had increased over the years. Its initiatives would provide people with easy access to the hottest and latest in technology and would ensure the benefits down to the end user, he said. Mr. Nair said Intel had already expanded its business operations to 484 cities since 2002. Intel had a strong base of 1800 associate partners and 8000 registered partners, he said. The company would enhance its marketing and service support to vendors which would help them reach out to the end customers to make informed IT choices, he added. He said Intel had launched 16 server and high-end computer processors that were built using new transistor formula that would prevent wasteful electricity leaks. Intel continued to deliver faster and more energy-efficient processors that were better for the environment, he said.
