Welfare aids disbursed to beneficiaries

Krishnagiri: The State Government has waived cooperative loans to the tune of Rs. 298 crore benefiting 71,735 farmers in Krishnagiri district. Of this Primary Agricultural Cooperative Banks waived an amount of Rs. 244 crore, District Revenue Officer V. Mohanraj has said.

Participating in the cooperative week celebrations here on Tuesday he said that PACBs and cooperative banks in Krishnagiri district had disbursed an amount of Rs.1.56 crore as crop loans to farmers in the current fiscal. Apart from this a sum of Rs.4.45 lakh were disbursed as jewel loans and Rs.5 lakh as other loans.

Mr. Mohanraj said that the State Government also reduced the interest rate for crop loans benefiting a large number of farmers in the district.

It also disbursed interest free loans to Scheduled Tribe and differently-abled women.
