Chennaiah Wodeyar dead

DAVANGERE: Chennaiah Wodeyar (90), former MP, was elected from Davangere Lok Sabha Constituency three times consecutively, died at a private hospital in Bangalore on Monday night.

Mr. Wodeyar was elected on the Congress ticket and had contested the last Lok Sabha elections on the Janata Dal (Secular) ticket. He was a prominent leader of the Kuruba community. His funeral would be held at his village Bilchod in Jagalur taluk on Wednesday.
