Library Week celebrations

VISAKHAPATNAM: The 40th National Library Week celebrations that commenced on Nov 14 concluded here on Tuesday at the Regional Library in Dwarakanagar.

Presiding over the meeting, founder of Praja Spandana C.S. Rao said the library was centrally located and it should not be shifted and on the other hand the authorities should think of expanding it by constructing another floor. The proposal was unanimously supported and a resolution was passed. A proposal for approaching a few philanthropists to computerise the library was also mooted in the meeting. The library was set up in 1965 and its services were being used by over 2.5 lakh citizens. Former professor of AU Vedula Subrahmanyam Sastry, Academic Counsellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, R.V Gopala Rao and M. Balaji Kumar of Lions Club and others were also present.
