dated November 21, 1957: India’s plea rejected

The United Nations General Assembly on November 19 rejected the Indian resolution to have “atomic Powers” declare willingness to suspend nuclear tests and to set up a technical-scientific commission to go into the whole question. Mr.Kuznetsov, Soviet Russia’s permanent delegate to the United Nations, said that if the United States, Britain and France wanted to make a step towards disarmament by deeds as well as words, they should vote for the Indian resolution.
