Letters to the Editor
Here is a story that describes the predicament of Mr. Yeddyurappa who ascended the Chief Minister’s gaddi for eight days. A king was passing by a seashore. He noticed an unusually big skull washed ashore by the waves. He ordered his palanquin-bearers to fetch him the skull. The king was endowed with the power of reading the fate written on one’s forehead. Placing the skull on his lap, he closely examined it. After pointing to the trials and tribulations the person to whom the skull belonged would undergo, the lines on the forehead concluded that he was destined to enjoy an infinitesimal pleasure. The pleasure alluded to here was the skull’s privilege of occupying the king’s lap for a short while. G. Jagannathan, Dharmapuri
