Manipur militant killed in encounter

IMPHAL: A member of the proscribed People’s Liberation Army was killed in an encounter on Tuesday morning at Nganukom in Bishunpur district of Manipur.

Police said when some youths were asked to stop, they opened fire. There was also an encounter between Army personnel and militants at Nongmaiching, about 20 km from here, on Tuesday.

The police have arrested C. Manoranjan from the Langol Housing complex for interrogation. He is an adviser to the Kanglei Yawol Kunna Lup, a banned group.
