NEW DELHI: Japanese digital imaging company Canon India on Tuesday launched 35 new state-of-the-art consumer digital imaging products.

The company said it would focus on retail business, launch new products and raise its brand appeal in the Indian market as part of its expansion strategy in the country, and aims Rs. 800 crore turnover next year.

The products present revolutionary ways for consumers to interact and enjoy experiences withneverbefore seen features and concepts. “Our focus on retail is definitely increasing as we are planning to open six exclusive showrooms by June next year for end-consumers and three outlets for business equipment to help in building the brand,” Canon India Vice-President, Alok Bharadwaj, told a press conference here.

Mr. Bhardwaj said the company already had tie-ups with 13 organised retailers such as Reliance, Croma, Big Bazaar, Jumbo, Metro, Home Solutions, Staples and the number is likely to go up to 20 next year.

Currently, the company has 1,200 points of sale for its digital cameras and 2,500 for the printers.

The new products with more features and concepts include digital cameras, camcorders, printers, scanners, SLR cameras and projectors.
