Vishnu to meet Madkekar

NEW DELHI: Vishnu Vardhan of South Central Railway defeated former champion Nitten Kirrtane of Western Railway 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals of the 54th all-India Railways tennis championship at the DLTA Complex here on Tuesday.

In the final, Vishnu Vardhan will take on Aditya Madkekar who got past P. C. Vignesh of South Central Railway with similar ease.

The results (semifinals) Men: Aditya Madkekar bt P. C. Vignesh 6-3, 6-2; Vishnu Vardhan bt Nitten Kirrtane 6-4, 6-3.

Veterans: Ram Kumar bt Dr. Sankwar 9-3; Sunil Jain bt Hanumantha Rao 9-3; Doubles: Hanumantha Rao and Ram Kumar bt Subramanian and Md. Omar 9-2; Purushottam and M. Samuel bt Sunil Jain and Madhukar Reddy 9-4. — Special Correspondent
