MCD comes in for criticism
NEW DELHI: Municipal Corporation of Delhi opposition leader J. K. Sharma on Tuesday said the BJP’s decision to hand over responsibility for maintenance of basic facilities in primary schools to a private trust was a “clear-cut proof of failure”.
The work of providing toilet blocks and potable water in just 50 of the 1,804 municipal schools had been handed over to a private trust, HOPE, he said, adding, “The remaining schools still remain deprived of basic facilities, causing great hardship to children.”
