BANGALORE: A newlywed woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband and her body dumped in the cowshed of their house at Tippur village on Kanakapura Road on the outskirts of the city. The police gave her name as Asha (19), daughter of Basavaraj of Nagegowdanapalya near Kengeri. She had married Muniraju of Tippur six months ago. Her poor health was an issue and Muniraju reportedly used to quarrel with her on this ground, the police said. On Sunday night, Muniraju allegedly stabbed Asha in the abdomen with a knife and threw her body in the cowshed. On Monday morning he informed Asha’s parents she was gored to death by a bull in the cowshed, the police said. On a complaint by Basavaraju, the Thalaghatapura police in Ramanagara district registered a case and are on the lookout for Muniraju, his parents and siblings, who are at large. SuicideAnother newlywed woman committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Vinayakanagar in HAL police station limits on Monday morning. The police said Radha (19), a second year B.Com student of Baldwin’s College, had married her boyfriend 20 days ago at a sub-registrar’s office here. She has left two notes, one addressed to her mother Rathnamma and the other to her husband, asking them to forgive her for taking the extreme step. The HAL police have registered a case.
