Bandh call: security beefed up

HYDERABAD: Security was beefed up in the city in connection with the Statewide bandh on Wednesday called for by the Opposition parties demanding Rs. 1,000 minimum support price for paddy.

Policemen were being posted at all important junctions and before A.P.S.R.T.C. bus depots to ensure the bandh enforcers would not cause inconvenience to common public by holding up bus services and traffic movement. Central Zone DCP Md. Iqbal said the additional forces that were deployed during the Assembly sessions would be on security duty on Wednesday as well.
