Farooqui’s findings accepted
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: The State Government on Tuesday announced acceptance of recommendations made by the enquiry officer M.F. Farooqui, who went into the attack on the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president M. Krishnasswamy near Mudukalathur on October 29.
Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi discussed the findings with Chief Secretary L.K. Tripathy and senior officers and ordered that further course of action be pursued, according to an official release.
Disciplinary action
Citing the enquiry officer’s report, the release said appropriate disciplinary action could be initiated against Mudukalathur inspector A. Varadarajan for dereliction of duty.
Despite unprecedented bandobust for the Muthuramalinga Thevar centenary celebration, the inspector should have been more alert once posters and pamphlets appeared in Mudukalathur town, mentioning the participation of Mr. Krishnasswamy at a function at Mudukalathur on October 29.
