NIZAMABAD: Tense situation prevailed for a few hours at the premises of the Government Area Hospital at Yellareddy town following the death of one Lakavath Jyothi (25) while undergoing treatment for gastroenteritis and attack of her relatives on the hospital, on Tuesday afternoon.

The assailants vandalised the hospital smashing the glass panes and damaging the duty doctor Yadagiri’s motorbike accusing him of being responsible for the death of Jyothi, who belonged to Japti Janakpet Tanda in Nagireddypet mandal. Traffic was affected for a couple of hours as the protesters staged rasta roko. They relented only after the District Coordinator of Hospital Services Balakisan promised them about recommending the suspension of the alleged negligent doctor. He also announced that Collector agreed to sanction Rs. 50,000 under the Apadbandh scheme.
