THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Trivandrum Residents Apex Council (TRAC) has termed the ongoing strike by government doctors as a violation of human rights. A press release quoting TRAC president Amaravila Ramakrishnan Nair and general secretary K.T. Roy here on Wednesday said patients depending on government hospitals were being denied treatment, forcing them to seek the services of private institutions and doctors. The release accused the Indian Medical Association of engineering the strike to help the private sector. Condemning the row over the status of the land identified for the Indian Institute of Space Sciences at Ponmudi, TRAC said such controversies would deprive the capital of prestigious projects.
