BIDAR: To make Auto Nagar functional in the city soon, Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta on Wednesday distributed title deeds to around 50 beneficiaries to set up shop at Naubad area of the city. Significantly, at one go, the Deputy Commissioner along with officials of the City Municipal Council (CMC), KIADB, and the Joint Director of District Industries and Commerce, cleared all the documents pertaining to allotment of the area required for setting up the establishments there. Normally, it would take about three months to get the documents. Initially, a sum of Rs. 5,000 was collected from the beneficiaries, who have been given 15 days time to deposit the balance amount. Mr. Harsh Gupta had inspected Auto Nagar and directed the authorities to demolish certain structures which were found to be not in accordance with the project report for Auto Nagar. AllotmentsThe allotments for setting up establishments in Auto Nagar were made about five years ago and many had constructed houses in the area. It may be recalled that the Deputy Commissioner had assured that automobile businessmen affected by the demolition operation in the city would be shifted to Auto Nagar. Besides, many automobile businessmen in the city had assured to make Auto Nagar functional once they were allowed to settle in the area. The district administration had constituted a Single Window Committee to allot sites in KIADB developed industrial area to the affected businessmen.
