Assaulted

Sirsi: Health inspector S.B. Patil was assaulted during the removal of encroachments on Court Road here on Wednesday. Gaju Bhandari, a resident of the area, allegedly assaulted Mr. Patil when he was demarcating land belonging the municipality in the town.

Bhandari’s shop had been earmarked for demolition. Soon after the incident, the staff of the municipality took out a protest.
