State’s image dented: Vatal
Special Correspondent
BANGALORE: The high drama of politics that has been going on in the State for the last week has given the State a bad name and this should not be allowed to continue, according to president of the Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha Vatal Nagaraj.
Addressing a press conference along with independent MLA from Brahmavar K. Jayaprakash Hegde, president of the Republican Party of India S. Rajendran here on Wednesday, Mr. Nagaraj said the Janata Dal (Secular) leadership had made a mockery of democracy in Karnataka and had steered the state to the largest political crisis ever. Never in the history of the state had two chief Ministers resigned in a gap of 15 days, he added.
Mr. Nagaraj said this crisis had sent wrong signals to the outside world. The State, which was gaining on investment from other States as well as other countries, now stood the chance of being avoided by investors. He said all the 115 first-time MLAs were also feeling insecure due to the political crisis.
