Tara Gandhi visits Bapu Ghat

HYDERABAD: Tara Gandhi Bhattachar, grand-daughter of Mahatma Gandhi and vice-chairman of Gandhi Smriti, Gandhi Darshan and Raj Ghat, on Wednesday visited Bapu Ghat here. She was received by B. Babu Rao Varma, president, Bapu Smriti and C.V. Chary, Sarvodaya leader. She offered floral tributes at the Ghat and addressed students, advising them to imbibe the spirit of ‘satya’, ‘ahimsa’ and concern for the poor. Dr. Varma explained to her the background of Bapu Ghat, where Gandhiji’s ashes were immersed 59 years back. –Special Correspondent
