Campaign to target Deve Gowda, Kumaraswamy District units told to hold meetings to chalk out programmes BANGALORE: The Bharatiya Janata Party will resume its Janajagruti campaign (Dharma Yuddha) against the Janata Dal (Secular) from November 26 by offering puja at the Gali Anjaneyaswamy temple on Mysore Road in Bangalore. According to the schedule finalised by the party on Wednesday, the campaign will be held in two phases from November 26 to 30 and December 2 to 6. This time, the party has chosen the areas which had not been covered by it during its previous “Dharma Yuddha” campaign. The campaign, which is an effort to gain public sympathy, will target the Janata Dal (Secular), particularly its president H.D. Deve Gowda and the former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy. On the first day, the campaign will cover the Janata Dal (Secular) heartland, especially Ramanagara Assembly constituency represented by Mr. Kumaraswamy, in addition to the Bangalore Urban, Rural and Mandya districts. A team of BJP leaders-led by the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will address conventions in Kengeri, Bidadi, Ramanagara, Channapatna, Maddur and Mandya on the first day of the campaign. On November 27, the campaign will cover Srirangapatna, Bannur, T. Narsipur and Kollegal. The campaign will also cover Chamarajanagar, Gundlupet and Nanjangud (November 28), Heggadadenakote, Hunsur and Periyapatna (November 29) and Madikeri and Somawarapet (November 30) in the first phase. In the second phase that will begin from December 2, the campaign will cover the districts of Hassan, Tumkur (some taluks), Kolar and Chickaballapur. Executive meetThe State executive committee meeting of the party in Davangere on December 8 and 9 will not only take stock of the political developments, but also decide the future course of action to be followed by the party, sources said. The BJP has also directed its district units to convene meetings of the district executives from November 26 to 12 to chalk out the programmes to be taken up at the district-level to galvanise the party organisation.
