Patel’s death: chemical analysis report awaited
Special Correspondent
BANGALORE: The police are awaiting the chemical analysis report of viscera to confirm the cause of the death of Kiran Patel (35), son-in-law of Hanur MLA Parimala Nagappa, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his Sanjaynagar flat on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Syed Ulfath Hussian told The Hindu on Wednesday that after the autopsy at M.S. Ramaiah Hospital, the viscera has been sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory for chemical analysis as recommended by forensic experts. Reacting to the reports in the section of the media that Patel had died of heart attack and also he had consumed excess alcohol on Monday night, Mr. Hussein said the forensic experts who conducted the autopsy had not given any opinion in this regard.
Patel, who came home late on Monday night, went to his room and slept. When his wife tried to wake him up around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, he did not respond. He was rushed to a hospital and was declared brought dead, the police said. Suspecting foul play, Patel’s father had lodged a complaint with the police.
