ERODE: Five child labourers were rescued by the Labour Welfare Department here on Tuesday. Cases were registered against establishments that employed them. According to a press release, officials conducted surprise raids on automobile workshops, hotels and other establishments at Surampatty, Surampatty Valasu, Sangunagar, Perundurai Road and Mettur Road on Tuesday. The public could call 2260099 if they noticed children working in factories or other establishments. — Staff Reporter
