FOR BIG EVENT: Huge cut-outs of national leaders being erected at V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College. VIJAYAWADA: The committee looking after the arrangements for transport and parking of vehicles for the Saturday’s ‘rythu garjana’ public meeting has appealed to the general public to stay at home in the afternoon of that day to avoid getting stuck in traffic. The committee has suggested to the public to plan a journey out of station only if it is unavoidable. Releasing the maps with places earmarked for parking of vehicles, committee chairman Varla Ramaiah said on Wednesday that more than 10,000 lorries, hundreds of tractor trailers and cars were expected to arrive in the city carrying farmers from different districts in the State. The huge turnout of people would “shake the foundations of State and Central Governments,” he claimed. Five pointsMr. Ramaiah said traffic would pour into the city through five points and parking areas had been earmarked accordingly. For vehicles coming from Hyderabad, West Krishna and Guntur side, parking would be available at Gollapudi Wholesale Shopping Complex, Bhavanipuram Lorry Stand and Kummaripalem TTD Kalyanamandapam. Vehicles coming from Eluru and Nunna-Nuzvid side would have to be parked at Andhra Loyola College grounds and those coming from Machilipatnam side would have to be parked in the open sites in front of Sri Chaitanya College gate and in New Autonagar area. Parking would be allowed only till noon in some areas near the venue of the meeting (V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College, Kanuru).
