Awareness programme conducted on kidnaps
Staff Reporter
Adilabad: The Nirmal police on Wednesday conducted an awareness programme for school managements titled ‘Prevent kidnaps, save children’ in view of the increasing kidnaps.
Nirmal DSP G. Chander Rao, CI Uday Kumar Reddy, Town SI Raghuchander and Rural SI John Diwakar talked about precautions to be taken by school managements in order to prevent abduction of students.
Do’s and don’ts
Among measures to be incorporated by managements as suggested by the officers were that every school should have a proper compound wall and entrance guarded by uniformed guards, no unauthorised person should be allowed inside the compound, students should be compulsorily issued an identity card, and alight and board school buses inside the premises.
Parents role
Additionally, parents who send children to schools in autos should verify the antecedents of autorickshaw drivers, and in the event of a student being absent, the class teacher concerned should ascertain the reason for the abstention in the first period itself, etc.
