Roads and Buildings department was taking all pains to make it fully operational at least on one lane of the road so that buses and lorries need not go round about via Old Guntur to National Highway near NTR Manasarovar and then go to Vijayawada. The old approach route from NTR Bus Station to National Highway via Autonagar would be restored partially and vehicles going out of the city or coming allowed on the bridge till the construction of second lane is completed Municipal Corporation shifts its drinking water pipeline. Municipal Commissioner Siddhartha Jain said the GMC had sought permission from World Bank for retendering and the process would begin soon facilitating completion of the long-pending work.
