Jammu: Irked by the statement of former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and National Conference Leader Farooq Abdullah in which he questioned the accession of Jammu and Kashmir to India in view of alleged human rights violations by the Army in the State, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha on Wednesday held protest demonstrations here. The demonstrators shouted anti-Farooq and anti-National Conference slogans. They said Mr. Abdullah’s statement regarding human rights violation by the Army was an attempt to tarnish the image of the forces. On Monday, Mr. Abdullah had said, “The killings of innocent people by the security forces are going on which is very sad... such incidents have given us a setback. The killings of two innocent people in Kupwara and Srinagar force us to think whether signing of the Instrument of Accession by my father Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah and Maharaja Hari Singh was fair and straight. The Army is not doing good to the country by such incidents. The Prime Minister and Defence Minister should personally look into these incidents.”
