This Day That Age
Accepting a suggestion of the Government of India, the Government of Mysore, in consultation with the Director of Technical Education, have constituted a Board of Technical Education and Training for the Mysore State with immediate effect. The Board will consist of 21 members with the Minister for Education as Chairman. In a press note issued on November 20 in Bangalore by the Secretary to the Government, Education Department, it is pointed out that the Second Five Year Plan lays great emphasis on the development of facilities for technical education and training as a prerequisite for the development of industry, power and irrigation, communications, transport and other productive activities. The Central Government, the All India Council for Technical Education and its regional committees and the Planning Commission have recommended that a board of technical education and training might be set up in each State.
