Rajagiri advances

KOCHI: The host Rajagiri Engineering College marched to the North Zone semifinals in the Mahatma Gandhi inter-collegiate basketball championship at Kakkanad on Wednesday.

The results: Quarterfinals: Rajagiri Engineering College, Kakkanad 70 (Jithin Sam Philip 33) bt Cochin College, Edakochi 26 (Srikanta 10).

St. Albert’s, Ernakulam 48 (Paul Louis 14, R. Nikhil 12) bt MOSC Medical College, Kolencherry 42 (Kevin Saji 16).

Rajagiri School of Management, Kakkanad 73 (Bonny Anto 19, Vinik Jose 19, N.P. Shibas 11) bt UC College, Aluva 25.

Pre-quarterfinals: Rajagiri SoM 61 bt St. Paul’s, Kalamassery 35.

UC 38 bt Mar Athanasius, Kothamangalam 34.

Dronacharya football

The second Dronacharya Trophy Navy Day all-Kerala football tournament begins at the Fort Kochi Parade Ground on Saturday (Nov. 24).

State Bank of Travancore, KSEB, Cochin Port Trust, Central Excise, Universal Calicut, Malabar United, Oxygen Pharma and Ernakulam XI will figure in the event

Inter-collegiate cycling

The Kerala University inter-collegiate cycling championship will be held at the LCNPE velodrome, Thiruvananthapuram, on November 23. The university also released the revised dates for the men’s kabbadi, cricket (men), ball badminton (women) and basketball (men) tournaments.

As per the new schedule the inter-zone kabaddi tournament will be held at the R.P. Training College,Valakkame on November 22 and 23. The inter-collegiate cricket tournament will be held at the LNCPE ground, Kariyavattom from November 26 to 29.

The inter-collegiate ball badminton tournament will be held at the Karamana NSS College on November 27 and 28 respectively. Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram will host the inter-collegiate basketball on November 28 and 29.
