NEW DELHI: Through its colourful animation on the small box, it has been providing quality entertainment to children across the country. And now Disney Channel has been giving children from various schools of the Capital a chance to shake their leg at the Siri Fort Auditorium here for the past two days. Audition for competitionA large number of school children participated in the audition for the inter-school dance competition titled ‘My School Rocks’. The participants danced to foot-tapping music from ‘High School Musical 2 Hindi’ soundtrack. Celebrity judgeThe winners will be pitted against students from Chandigarh, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Kolkata. Celebrity choreographer and judge of the competition Shiamak Davar will choose the eight finalists representing each of these cities. The vignettes of the finalists’ performances will be aired on Disney Channel for viewers to vote for their favourite dance number. “I am more than thrilled to be part of ‘My School Rocks’ as it brings two of my biggest passions together – dance and music. I am convinced that I will learn as much as I will contribute in the next few months interacting and working with children across the country. I am extremely excited and looking forward to meeting and dancing with a lot of kids,” says Shiamak.
